About Me

Author. Nurse. Voice Amplifier. Elvis Enthusiast.

Christina Ditchkofsky is a trauma-informed author, practicing nurse, and the founder of Ditch Key Words, L.L.C., a creative studio for brave storytellers. She gives voice to the stories people are too afraid to tell—and too strong to keep hidden. Through writing, podcasting, and public speaking, Christina is breaking the silence around domestic violence, childhood trauma, and emotional abuse.

Her debut memoir, Burnt Letters, didn’t start as a book—it began as late-night journal entries scribbled in survival mode. What it became is a raw, no-B.S. story of emotional abuse, generational wounds, and what it takes to finally say: enough. This is Book One in a three-part series—a healing journey told in layers, not chapters.

In the earlier chapters of her life, Christina built a career in nursing while raising her children in a small rural town in Pennsylvania. Now based in San Antonio, Texas, she’s completing her degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner while continuing to write, coach, and advocate for those still finding their way out of the dark.

Christina writes for the woman still checking the door lock twice. The one asking, “Is this my fault?” The one trying to remember who she was before she had to survive.

Her work is a call to reclaim your voice, rewrite the narrative, and burn down the stories that never belonged to you in the first place.

When she’s not helping authors share their truth or caring for patients at the bedside, you’ll find her walking the Greenway trails with her three rescue dogs—Willow, Hank, and Larry—sipping black coffee in vintage boots, and passionately defending why Elvis still matters.

Because healing is serious work—but your voice doesn’t have to whisper.

Book One of the Burnt Letters Trilogy
This isn’t therapy talk. This is battlefield poetry.

You don’t fall in love with a monster.
You fall for someone who sees your brokenness—and then uses it to destroy you.

This memoir peels back the polished surface of “good girl” survival and confronts:

  • The invisible weight of intergenerational trauma and father wounds
  • The spiritual abuse that taught her to endure pain quietly and call it faith
  • The hidden patterns of covert emotional abuse that mimic love—but hollow you out
  • The power of writing, remembering, and finally—burning what no longer serves you

 This book is for:
• Survivors of emotional and spiritual abuse
• Women rebuilding after toxic relationships or religious shame
• Therapists, DV advocates, and trauma-informed healers
• Friends and family who still ask, “Why doesn’t she just leave?”
• Daughters of silence. Cycle breakers. Women who are done apologizing
...more

Everyone’s Journey is Unique.

These journals are a supportive tool—but they're not a substitute for therapy or safety planning.
